Deng Long - Soft Form Lanterns

Deng Long - meaning Light cage, was one of the inspirations for this design. Lanterns are an important aspect of Asian cultures, being an object that brings warmth and light. Wanting to emulate those aspects in a modern design, the Lanterns are made to represent that. The external form is made from an inflated bladder that also softens the light. The top acts a capacitive touch to control the light.
